Playfulness

IMG_3305A family of foxes have been keeping us company for the last few months. I watched the couple playing in the snow when I was pregnant with my daughter.

The other day I marvelled how safe the mother fox must have felt to breastfeed two of her babies while I was breastfeeding mine a few metres away from her. Baby foxes chasing each other and jumping about have been a source of joy and excitement in our household. It’s like a wildlife programme, except live.

For me, the gift of this fox family is that of playfulness. They remind me daily that

– When we play, we bond.

– When we play, we grow more effortlessly.

– When we play, we learn.

– When we play, we are happier.
