Five Photos, Five Stories Challenge – Day One

Ula, a wonderful fellow blogger, has invited me to take a part in a challenge which requires posting five photos in five days with a short commentary. In her yesterday’s post, Ula mentioned that she decided to nominate me to take up this challenge because somehow roses reminded her of me. It made me really happy, because I love-love-love roses. In fact, we live in our current house because… I fell in love with roses here (note to self: don’t fall for them the next time – think extra bedroom, not roses!). They reminded me of my childhood garden with roses so aromatic they felt almost intoxicating. I just could not walk away from them…

Another reason why this nomination makes me happy is because I can show off with some photos I’ve been taking lately. They bring me so much joy and taking a good photo sometimes is enough to make my day.

Here is a small selection. Not surprising, I’m starting with roses. Enjoy!

As I mentioned above, I was nominated to take part in this photo challenge by wonderful Ula. Although we’ve never met, I feel I’ve known Ula for a long time. Her writing is exquisite and touches something deep inside me. I nominate Susan Scott, an amazing writer who blew my mind away with her series about Lilith, Adam and Eve, to take part in this challenge. If you are interested in the art of the dark feminine, relationships, and bringing feminine and masculine energies together, do read her writing – it’s a real treat.

The rules of the Five Photos, Five Stories Challenge are:

1) Post a photo each day for five consecutive days.

2) Attach a story to the photo. It can be fiction, non-fiction, poetry, or a short paragraph. It’s entirely up to the individual.

3) Nominate another blogger to carry on the challenge. Your nominee is free to accept or decline the invitation. This is fun, not a command performance!

  1. Thanks Gulara for the nomination! And your very kind words about my blog! Your photos are beautiful! I took a few photos outside this morning which I will upload onto computer later and apply my non technical skills probably tomorrow afternoon. Off to the rooms right now …(husband’s rooms) … and will get moving on this from tomorrow.

    • I always love photos on your posts! They are so beautiful and capture the essence of your writing. It could be google images or any other source – doesn’t have to be taken by you 🙂 I was just searching for a photo on google images to go with one of the pieces.

  2. These are beautiful. I’m so glad we discovered each other, because I really enjoy your work. I had a good feeling with the roses. I completely understand about deciding to live somewhere because of something “trivial.” We bought the apartment we currently live in because I liked the view (onto an old factory).
