‘I don’t want to fall. I don’t want to fall.’
‘How did you make it up here then?’
‘I don’t know. I just climbed up.
With my eyes closed. Pulling that behind,’
she pointed with her head at a large gray boulder.
‘Exactly. And now I am stuck up here.’
‘Come on,’ the angel said taking her by the hand.
They looked at the clouds below covering the soft green land.
‘No, no, no. I don’t want to fall.’
‘You don’t have to.’
‘But there is no way out.’
‘What if… you could fly.’
‘Let go,’ the angel whispered.
‘Surrender,’ the angel coaxed.
‘Listen to your heart.’
She eased into the cold air.
First breathless with excitement.
Ice forming on her face from the altitude.
Then fear disappeared
She finally surrendered
Until she floated softly like a feather.
Often we think we are stuck
Whilst there is another way
If we are willing to risk it.
If we are brave enough to see it.
Because that angel is always by our side
Ready to hold us while we fly…
